How do you follow the explosion of Lass Your Aff Off! comedy that occurred at Z Playhouse in Mission Viejo in April? You light another fuse and wait for a funny night of exciting entertainment to begin!
On Saturday May 17th we’re proud to bring back one of our all-time favorites to The Z, James P. Connolly, and you’re not going to want to miss the fun.
James attended Harvard University on a Marine Corps ROTC Scholarship. While serving in Desert Storm, he was ordered to write jokes for a Colonel. Arriving in Hollywood, he began to perform at LA’s major comedy venues and soon popped up on television, commercials and in small films. He has appeared on America’s Got Talent, Comedy Central, HBO, in the new Netflix series, “Larry Charles: Dangerous World of Comedy”, and on the Audible Audio Documentary, “Strong Ending”. Most recently James completed his Dry Bar comedy special.
James can be heard daily on SiriusXM Comedy Channels, has hosted “Live From Here” for National Lampoon XM Radio, and recorded a “Blue Collar Radio Comedy Concert” for SiriusXM, He produces an annual Veterans Day Comedy Show benefiting the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP).
Joining James is an OC favorite, the very funny Jim Taylor. Whether on a comedy club stage or at an industrial or corporate venue, this former radio talk show host is at home. Jim has shared a stage with a variety of performers, from Judy Tenuta to Jim Breuer. On his comedy talk show Jim’s guests included Jeff Foxworthy, Bobby Slayton, Kathleen Madigan and Weird Al Yankovic. Jim has performed at countless fundraisers, charity events and auctions for a variety of worthy organizations acting as host, entertainment and as auctioneer.
Also gracing our Lass Your Aff Off! stage in May will be Allen Goble. Allen can be seen performing regularly throughout a variety of OC & LA clubs. His low-key delivery, instant likability, and comedic observations, has made him an audience favorite wherever he performs.
Hosting this comedy extravaganza is the hilarious Rachel Burch! After a very long and successful career as an attorney, Rachel left the law completely to pursue other things although unsure what those things would be, but knew that she was not happy as an overworked lawyer. Fast forward to today, Rachel is the host of the very successful podcast “Love Before 100” and performs stand-up throughout the OC and LA.
This is going to be an amazing night of comedy, so please don’t miss it, and don’t attend alone. You’re going to need someone to help you up when you fall on the floor laughing.

* The Z Playhouse showroom is located on the second floor of the building. Currently the only access available are stairs located on the outside of the building. No elevator access is available.

Comedy is subjective and although we strive hard to bring you the funniest, top-notch comedians, some may push the boundries of your personal comfort zone so we suggest you check out their website first. While we don’t have a minimum age requirement for admission, most of our shows are Rated PG-13 as a rule and we would hope you would use your best judgement when purchasing tickets.
